Here are links to the latest Piper tool and model (Use 7zip to extract the 7z archives).

Piper software:

• Patch 1.0.2 (released 5.12.2017) for Piper (windows 64). This patch will update version 1.0.1 to 1.0.2. In case you don't have Piper 1.0.1, download directly the full package 1.0.2 (link below).
• PIPER software to position and personalize human body models for Windows 64-bit, version 1.0.2 (released 5.12.2017). Available under the GPLv2 or later license. The up-to-date documentation of the tool is in the archive (can be opened from the application by pressing F1). Use the patch above instead of this full package download in case you already have Piper 1.0.1 to save time!
• The source code can be found on the the INRIA Gitlab for PIPER.

Piper child model:

• The PIPER child model. Available under the GPLv3 +liability and open science clauses. The last public document is a manuscript written for the Conference on the Protection of children in Cars end of 2016. The pdf is available here. There are a few evolutions and we are working on a final publication.

Others:

• a wiki with tutorials and guidelines also on the gitlab. For communication, please use the issue function.
• All videos from the final workshop in Paris (talks only, no audience) are available on PIPER youtube channel

Older versions:

• PIPER software to position and personalize human body models for Windows 64-bit, version 1.0.1 (released 19.7.2017). Available under the GPLv2 or later license. The documentation of the tool is in the archive and also online.

PS: We are working on scientific publication for the final results (please be kind to the authors not to rush to publish results obtained with the PIPER tools or models).

Besides the software and the child model, the Git repository also provides:

• some anthropo models (to be used with scalable constraints)
• a reference geometrical model (see also data below)
• vehicle environments (including generic child restraint systems released by VFSB. Thank you)

Many questions right now are related to the use of the software with commercial models (e.g. Thums, GHBMC). We are currently still discussing with the model owners on the best way to make available the metadata for these. In the meantime, we cannot provide metadata examples for these models.

The project also decided to release most data generated or formatted during the project. Please see the files for documentation (license, source, …). A list is provided below:

  • Meshes generated using an older version of Anatoreg: 25 sets (all partial, draft meshes) (374 MB)
  • Meshes generated semi automatically on 1 subject (970) (54 MB)
